Bella styling the braids

So Mirabella has been working on her style a lot ha ha, and here is the new hairstyle. She still loves here Bee outfit, it's getting very small though!!

New York City...cha ching

Wednesday I spent a day in NYC taking in the atmosphere, networking and interviewing.  Was an early start to be on the train into town by 7:15 from Hamilton NJ taking the express service to Penn Station in the middle of Manhattan.  It is amazing how many people there are as soon as you get out of the train, there are street food and clothing stands in all the busy parts of the city.

I started  day in the North West corner of Central Park (Upper West Side), a place full of nice little cafes, pastry bakeries, book shops and Columbia University. Happened to be able to see the chaos from a graduation ceremony there.... So crazily stereotypical with the people throwing their graduation hats in the air; some students arriving my motorbike while other come in limos. Nearby is Cathedral Subway Station aptly named because of the amazing Cathedral nearby:

After taking the Subway a few stations a south I found myself in the West Village... High end cars, nice restaurants and expensive Real Estate characterise this area. I was here for a meeting for a potential job. If I am working in that area it would be pretty cool.

After that it was straight downtown. To Battery Park City, West Hudson Park and the World Trade Centre 9/11 monuments:

So after a huge day I take the train back to Sicklerville, wishing that I could stay in the city... This little trip has wet my appetite for city living, particularly NYC city living ;-)  Sure it's dirty and gritty but there's just so much happening.  So much innovation, so many 20 something, 30 something startups and so much life on top of so much history.... An amazing mix of artists, financial resources and  people full of life.

Bella's first bike!

Bella's First Bike

So we were in Walmart (my addiction has warn off slightly thankfully ;-) ) and we were going to be getting Mira a bike seat for my bike when she saw this very cute 12 inch bike and she was in love. We chatted about it for a few minutes and Mirabella was certainly in love with the bike and wanting it above all else including the bike seat to ride with me.  So it was decided then and there by the little one that she would be riding next to me not up with me. So far it's been 3 days and she has improved so fast that it's amazing to see. Each day we take her out ride to the local playground or around with her remote control car. Lily and I are so happy she loves it so much!! Can't wait until the 3 of us can go on rides altogether.

Bella has also been working on her frizbee throwing and is becoming a left handed frizbee expert although she does almost everything else with her right hand.

We are working towards moving to New York but certainly enjoying our time in the 'burbs at the moment.

Love to everyone back home in Oz.

Spring hath come!

So I could have sworn that we had brought the crazy Melbourne weather with us. Raining like crazy from one day to 25 degrees the next this was something most New Jersians had not experienced. It's been a pretty quiet week apart from hearing back from a couple of job applications, watching the NBA playoffs, checking out a couple of the local bars and taking Bella to the local playgrounds.

One thing I will have to get used to is the short resumes.  After cutting mine down to 2 pages I've now be told its still too wordy.  Use dot points, focus on duties rather than achievements and above all else keep it tight ha ha. I'm glad I've got a few local contacts to give me hints.

Love from all of us!
